German gemstone specialist Caram eK expects a rising demand for well-matched coloured gemstone layouts, with top-quality emeralds and sapphires being particularly sought after.
To answer this demand, the company is presenting a dazzling array of gemstones at the HKTDC fair, headlined by a 27-carat cushion-cut Zambian emerald of exceptional colour and clarity. According to the company, the stone is beautifully cut, with an almost antique-looking silhouette.
Our family has been in the emerald-cutting and trading business for over 250 years, originating in Jaipur. Since then, we have built a stunning collection of both Colombian and Zambian emeralds
noted company executive Rahul Jain. “Buyers will see a wide range of hues and cuts of emeralds at our booth, from affordable qualities to collector’s items.”
The company is also casting the light on a 7-carat unheated Royal Blue sapphire from Sri Lanka, the company said.
Jain also mentioned a generally higher appreciation for well-cut gemstones among consumers, adding that buyers are “realising that paying a little extra for such stones is worth the investment as these products move the fastest.”
Caram’s customer base consists of wholesalers, retailers, jewellery manufacturers, designers, goldsmiths and setters.
Caram was founded by Raj Jain in 1975 in Idar-Oberstein, the world’s gemstone capital, as a gemstone manufacturing and wholesale business. The company’s extensive diamond and gemstone procurement network allows it to deliver an exceptional collection of goods, including rare and important gemstones, to discerning buyers, Jain said.
