Germany-based gemstone traders unveiled a collection of top-quality gems that highlight Idar-Oberstein’s gemstone-cutting expertise at the June Hong Kong Fair.
Vikar Ahmed’s special stones included a gem-quality red tourmaline up to 40 carats in size, which matched perfectly with Pantone’s colour of the year, Marsala, as well as Namibian tourmalines from the Neuschwaben farm in sizes up to 60 carats and 120-carat pairs, the largest stones ever produced by the mine, according to the gemstone dealer.
Caram eK, for its part, presented a wide selection of top-end emeralds, rubies and sapphires as well as one-of-a-kind signature pieces.
The company also offer customisation services for diamond and gemstone jewellery.
Caram’s prices range from $3,000 to $20,000 per carat. The figure could go up to $50,000 per carat for exclusive pieces, according to the company.
Idar-Oberstein is the capital of Germany’s gemstone industry.
